After earning degrees in graphic design and fine art Sheri Jacobson worked as a publications designer before becoming Director of an Art and Design
department that developed products for national textbook publishers. She continued in the design area of educational
publishing for over fifteen years.
Since leaving the publishing industry two years ago,
Jacobson has focused on creating mixed media paintings and found object assemblages.
Jacobson paints using acrylics to allow
spontaneity and immediacy as she builds layers of rich color and texture. Her assemblages,
made from found materials, represent Jacobson’s interest in the iconic meaning
of everyday objects.
